Visualisation, assets creation and project management for a promo video for Fesco Inc, an oil and gas company based in Texas, USA.
Project Brief
Founded in 1949 by W.E. Bill Findley Jr., Fesco a leading provider of energy services with 17 full-service locations in the Permian Basin, Eagleford, Haynesville, and Appalachia Regions.
For their promo video, our vision was a clean, modern look with detailed illustrations. With technical terms and concepts required by the client, we aimed for a balance between abstract representations to appeal to the unversed in Oil and Gas, as well as accurate representations of equipment and processes for the experts in the field.
Target Audience: Oil and Gas professionals
Design Language: Drawing on the brand colours of yellow and green, we toned down the saturated colours into accents to create an angular, clean look.
Animation Style: Clean, fluid motion with snappy transitions.
Process
Storyboard
For such a technical topic, research is key. Understanding and learning the topic, as well as translating complex ideas into visuals was challenging, and included consulting with professionals in the Oil and Gas field (perhaps the only time I've taken an interest in my father's 40+ years of experience in Oil and Gas, much to his amusement). A lot of reading, referring to photographs of the real life equipment, and simplification of concepts led to some great visuals, and a video even a layman would understand.
